On East Turkestan, Israel, and The Uyghur Genocide
Is East Turkestan the second Palestine? A series of sources that contradict this narrative.

The East Turkestan Government in Exile and its Support for Israel
Salih Hudayar the 4th Prime Minister of East Turkestan government in Exile (ETGE) and Head of East Turkistan National Awakening Movement. Salih Hudayar has publicly expressed his admiration for the zionism as a model for East Turkestan independence.
In a recent development that highlights the complex intersections of international politics and human rights, the East Turkestan exiled government has made a public announcement expressing solidarity with Israel. The exiled government, which represents the Uighur Muslim minority in China's Xinjiang region, has condemned the recent violence between Israel and Palestine, extending condolences to the Israeli people.
Interview: Salih Hudayar, PM of the East Turkestan Government-in-Exile - Times of Israel June 03 2023
At the same time, the people of East Turkestan are divided into many denominators. There is no organization that fully represents East Turkestan, but there is a fact that the East Turkestan Government-in-Exile is the only official institution for this region. Salih Hudayar, who has lived in the USA for many years and carried out important works for East Turkestan despite his young age and is the Prime Minister of the current government, answered my questions about his country.

Have you held any official meetings with the Israeli Government?
Sadly, we have not met with the Israeli government. However, we have conducted a number of meetings and events with Jewish and pro-Israel organizations in the United States who have demonstrated solidarity with East Turkistan’s plight. We hope that meetings can be arranged with the Israeli government and parliament to foster friendship and cooperation between East Turkistan and Israel. I believe we can learn a great deal from the Jewish experience and their endeavors to regain their homeland and maintain Israel’s independence.
The East Turkestan Government In Exile Connection to The American Right-Wing
Committee on the Present Dangers
Following a speech by Hudayar at Committee on the Present Dangers, a self described “neoconservative” and “anticommunist” lobby group, Hudayar was recognized as the ambassador to the United States on behalf of the self proclaimed government of East Turkestan.
The committee’s vice chair, Frank Gaffney, is the founder of the Center for Security Policy, a think tank that argues that mosques and Muslims across America are engaged in a “stealth jihad” to “Islamize” the country by taking advantage of American pluralism and democracy.
Hudayar gets introduced by Frank Gaffney in his speech to the committee.
On April 9, 2019 the ‘Committee on the Present Danger: China’ (CPDC) hosted a Capitol Hill roundtable discussion about the threat posed by communist China.
During the speech, Hudayar recounts his family history and experiences of state repression. He continues by affirming his admiration for the United States and retelling how he joined the United States Army to show his gratitude. He later claims that Judaism, Christianity, the Falun Gong, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Taoism are being actively suppressed, oppressed, and targeted unjustly by the Communist Party of China.
To focus on the Falun Gong, they are a right-wing conservative religious group banned in China for their anti-communism, pro-Trump stance, extortion of money from members, and more. Falun Gong is the one behind the notorious “China before Communism” Shen Yun ads.
Shen Yun Dancers Promote Pro-Trump Falun Gong Propaganda? - Dakota Free Press
By Cory Allen Heidelberger January 24 2022
Shen Yun is also a marketing ploy developed by the Falun Dafa/Falun Gong cult founded in 1992 by a guy, Li Hongzhi, who rejects evolution, homosexuality, extramarital sex and reporters’ questions:
Li has been open about his beliefs that evolution is fraudulent, that people of different races will be separated in Heaven, and that homosexuality and promiscuity are unnatural. He told Time that aliens were attempting to control humans by making us dependent on modern science. (He intended to be metaphorical, he later said.) A San Francisco man named Samuel Luo has claimed that his mother and stepfather refused essential medical treatment because of Falun Gong’s teachings that sickness is based in karma; he has also claimed that they came to believe that it was the gods’ plan to eliminate the gay population. Luo set up a Web site called The Untold Story of Falun Gong in 2007, and Falun Gong responded by complaining to the domain provider.
The organization also threatened to sue the International Cultic Studies Association for bringing Luo to a conference as a presenter. Other religions resist modern medicine, and many faiths have held racist views or have opposed homosexuality (or both). But Falun Gong’s defensive reactions not only to criticism but to basic journalistic inquiry can suggest an institution that would prefer people not ask very many questions. In response to a list of questions related to this article, a representative from Falun Gong’s information center, who had previously clarified a few points over the phone, sent an impassioned, six-hundred-word e-mail expressing dismay at some of the details mentioned in the questions and arguing that negative stories about Falun Gong make it easier for the Chinese government to wage its campaign of persecution. The representative asked that he not be quoted at all. He did not answer any of the questions. (I separately requested comment, multiple times, from Shen Yun, but never heard back.) [Jia Tolentino, “Stepping into the Uncanny, Unsettling World of Shen Yun,” The New Yorker, 2019.03.19]
Falun Gong is also closely tied to the radical right-wing newspaper Epoch Times, which has made beaucoup bucks promoting Trump and his lies. Posturing against Chinese Communist tyranny while promoting American capitalist tyranny—now that’s quite the dance!
Voices for Truth and Humanity
At minute 4:58 Hudayar says:
“Today we ask for your help. The Jewish nation has achieved freedom that we are only dreaming of; they have overcome the pharaohs of the past; they have managed to rescue the imprisoned and persecuted from the former Soviet Union and other parts of the world. They have rebuilt their land and shown the world that justice can take place. We are seeking allies to stand with us against the dragon that conquered and devastated our land. In 2021, Israel voted in the U.N. Human Rights Council to condemn China’s atrocities, while most of the Muslim world, with the exception of Albania, either stood in silence or supported the Chinese government.
Voices for Truth and Humanity denies the Israeli ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.

Mike Pompeo On the Uyghur Genocide
Mike Pompeo declares China's treatment of Uighurs 'genocide' - The Guardian
By Julian Borger January 19 2021
The US secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, has declared that China is committing “ongoing” genocide against Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang province, less than 24 hours before leaving office.
The incoming Biden team termed the persecution of Uighurs a genocide in August, and Anthony Blinken, nominated to succeed Pompeo, told a Senate confirmation hearing on Tuesday that he agreed with the new designation.

In his statement, Pompeo said: “I have determined that the PRC [People’s Republic of China], under the direction and control of the CCP [Chinese Communist party], has committed genocide against the predominantly Muslim Uyghurs and other ethnic and religious minority groups in Xinjiang.

Pompeo says Israel has biblical claim to Palestine and is ‘not an occupying nation - The Guardian
By Chris McGreal February 16 2023
Pompeo told the One Decision podcast that his religious beliefs, US strategic interests and his view of the Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, as a “known terrorist” underpinned his support as the Trump administration’s top diplomat for the shift in US policy away from mediating a two-state solution and toward more openly siding with Israel.
“[Israel] is not an occupying nation. As an evangelical Christian, I am convinced by my reading of the Bible that 3,000 years on now, in spite of the denial of so many, [this land] is the rightful homeland of the Jewish people,” he said.

Miami, FL – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) appeared on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight to discuss the Chinese government’s oppression of Uyghur Muslims in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, including the existence of “political re-education camps’ where upwards of 800,000 to 1 million people are arbitrarily detained.

Republican U.S. Senator Marco Rubio said on Monday he was bringing Rushan Abbas, an advocate for the rights of China's Uighur Muslim minority, as his guest for President Donald Trump's annual State of the Union address on Tuesday.
The House voted nearly unanimously last year for legislation calling for a tougher response to China's treatment of its Uighur Muslims. The bill has bipartisan support in the Senate, but the Senate's Republicans leaders have so far not scheduled a vote in that chamber.

In the 1990s, Abbas worked as a contractor for the U.S. military, interpreting interrogations of Uyghur detainees at Guantanamo Bay after 9/11. These Uyghur detainees took part in a Chinese pogrom in 1997, later fleeing into Afghanistan and being detained by the US military.

On the History of the East Turkestan Movement in Xinjiang
A 1998 journal for a great overall view of the history of the East Turkestan movement, the region, and the origins of discourse we hear today. It is great because it avoids any of the sensationalist talking points we have here today.
An important section describes China's response, ranging from the suppression of separatist movements and right-wing Muslim groups to the promotion of the social and economic well-being of ethnic minorities. It shows that the state policies of the CPC are geared toward uplifting (at least materially, economically, and educationally) ethnic minorities rather than suppressing ethnic minority groups for their minority status.
Beijing has also tried to win over the Uygurs with preferential policies that allow lower admittance scores on the national university entrance examinations and allow couples to have two or three children (all ethnic minorities were exempted from China’s One Child Policy). The journal describes how the government also guarantees a job for all university graduates from ethnic minority backgrounds. The authorities have heavily invested in infrastructure and social development projects in southern Xinjiang, where the Uygurs are the majority among the local residents.
A Look On Sanctions
Apparel, tech companies face most risk if US widens China sanctions over Uighurs S&P Global 12 Oct, 2020
More than half a million Uighurs and other minorities are forced to pick cotton in China, a report reveals. The Independent Tuesday 15 December 2020
Two articles about Uyghur forced labor claim that 500k Uyghurs were forced to pick cotton, thus the reason why the US sanctioned the cotton industries of Xianjing (and there was a campaign to call out Nike, H&Ms, and American brands that sourced cotton from the region).
Below is an article that describes the effects of the sanctions after their implementation.
Xinjiang cotton ban uncertainties weigh on Chinese farmers, smaller textile firms
16 Apr, 2021
“By the end of 2019, there were 808 cotton processing companies in Xinjiang, accounting for 84 per cent of the country’s total, according to the China Cotton Association. Those cotton-manufacturing firms employ about 600,000 people in Xinjiang.
More than half of Xinjiang’s farmers – over 70 per cent of whom are members of ethnic minority groups – grow cotton, and the crop is the main source of income for farmers, particularly in the Uyghur-populated areas of southern Xinjiang, according to the association.“
In January, the US government announced a sweeping ban on imports of cotton and tomatoes from Xinjiang, citing alleged human rights violations and the widespread use of forced labour in the region. Official data shows that Xinjiang’s annual output of cotton is about 5 million tonnes, accounting for 87.3 per cent of the country’s total cotton production last year.
“If this industry shrinks too quickly and there is a wave of factory closures, unemployment could increase dramatically, and poverty may follow soon after,” the institute warned.
That impact is already evident in parts of Xinjiang. Mr Song, the manager of a cotton spinning factory in Korla city, central Xinjiang, said his firm may be forced to lay off some workers if its sales of cotton yarn continue to drop because big international brands have cut ties.
“It will impact us over the long run if these brands stop sourcing cotton from Xinjiang. We will have no choice but to reduce our capacity”

“Islamistan” a short-lived British puppet state in Xianjing 1933-1934
CHINA: Sheldrake's Islamistan
Monday, Aug. 13, 1934 Time Magazine
No more outlandish than everything else in the mountain-walled bowl of sand between China, Russia and India was Dr. Khalid Sheldrake, Moslem medical missionary to Moslems who started life as the son of a British pickle manufacturer. Last winter several tribal chiefs from Chinese Turkistan, where every tribe hates and fears every other tribe, called on Dr. Sheldrake in his Peiping hotel and invited him to be their overlord. The red-fezzed, toothbrush-mustached Briton accepted and announced that he was King of the entire Chinese province of Sinkiang, of some 3,000,000 Moslem, Buddhist, Confucianist, Taoist souls speaking Turkish, Russian, Chinese and Persian. Sweeping clean, he announced that the name of his new kingdom was "Islamistan."
When his plump-cheeked wife got the news in the London suburb of Forest Hill, she gave regal audience to newshawks: "I intend to take my responsibilities as Queen seriously. My two sons are excited at the idea that they are now Princes." But before the royal family could get to the coronation city of Khotan on the southern rim of the Taklamakan Desert, the troops of General Shen Shih-tsai, young Chinese provincial governor, swooped down on King Khalid with planes furnished by Soviet Russia. Last week a brief dispatch from the sand bowl disposed of the pickle maker's ambitious son: "Provincial troops overthrew the insurgent Moslem forces of Dr. Khalid Sheldrake. He was reported to have fled in defeat toward India, following the wholesale surrender of his troops."
